How to sell a seasonal product during a holiday period? This is a very common question we get from Amazon Sellers.
Here are our 2 cents on the topic:
Use a 3PL (3rd Party Logistics) or AWD (Amazon Warehousing & Distribution).
When you have a seasonal period, avoid stock-outs. Ensure you have stock ready to ship on FBA in advance.
If you run out of stock and you don’t have a proper supply-chain option, you will lose precious time in waiting for new arrivals of your product and your performance will drop down. Also, when you don’t have a 3PL warehouse and wait for more stock in FBA, you might need to pay extra fees and bid to increase re-stock limits.
Using 3PL or AWD help you to store or ship your products to Amazon very quickly.
Outrank your competitors before the season (event).
You can rank higher organically before the actual season/holiday starts. There are people who will want to buy your product before the big events. You shouldn’t forget that regardless of your Summer or Winter product, out of these seasons, you are still competing for higher ToS and ToS IS rankings.
Preparing in advance will lead you a few steps further from your competitors before the season.
