They all benefit from the Brand Registry features and opportunities to grow their business. Just like your unique product deserves it.
What are the eight steps to follow and join the Amazon PL family?
Create an Amazon Seller Central Account
Seller Central Account is a MUST-HAVE to register a brand. On the Amazon Seller Central website, you can provide the necessary information and follow the instructions to set up your account.
Establish a Unique Brand
To register your Private Label, you need a unique brand name or logo. Ensure your brand is distinguishable and not already registered by another seller in the Amazon marketplace. This logo MUST be placed on your products and/or packaging.
Apply for Trademark
One of the eligibility criteria to enroll your brand is to have a registered trademark. It doesn’t have to be in the country you are selling in. It could be in any of the countries Amazon is selling to.
Generate a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN)
Obtain a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) for your product. A GTIN can be in the form of a UPC, EAN, or ISBN. If you already have a GTIN for your product, skip this step.
Sign in to Amazon Brand Registry
Once your trademark and GTIN are ready, sign in to your Amazon Seller Central account and access the Brand Registry section. You have a 3-pages registry form.
Provide Brand Information
Enter the details about your brand, including its name, website, and GTINs associated with your products. If you already sell on Amazon, you’ll need all of your ASINs numbers and a list of countries where you distribute your products.
Submit Documentation
Upload the required documents to verify your brand ownership. This typically includes your trademark registration certificate, product samples or prototype (not MOCKUPS and software-created images), packaging, and any other supporting documentation Amazon requests.
Wait for Approval
After submitting your application, Amazon will review your information and documentation. The approval process may take some time, usually a few weeks. Be patient and regularly check your Seller Central account for updates.
Important Notes:
Make sure you will start the process to register your trademark through the appropriate intellectual property office in your country or region. It can take several months, so start as early as possible.
Your brand name must be on the actual product itself (not just the package):
Once your brand is approved in the Amazon Brand Registry, you gain access to various benefits, such as enhanced brand protection, control over product listings, enhanced search result placement, and access to powerful tools for brand management.
