Have you tried to leave the search terms tab empty during the first 1 to 2 weeks of your Honeymoon period? If not, in the short video below, Vincenzo and I are giving a few good reasons to consider it from a strategic point of view.
We don’t want to confuse the Amazon algorithm with additional terms, unless they are our main keywords in a different language or misspellings.
During the Honeymoon period, we emphasize the copy itself and the exact match keywords (KWs), which will be advertised with higher bids. This way, we want to show the A9 that this is the product that it thinks it is, and this is the place it has to be placed.
You gather as many organic and relevant KWs indexed as possible.
When we are sure that we have the exact KWs in the copy for the first 1 to 2 weeks of the product mapping, we launch ASIN targeting campaigns. We run it with 5 to 10 top ASINs in the niche and 5 to 10 top exact match KWs with higher than average bids and relatively high placements.
